English Courses for Students of Islamic Economics: What Do They Really Need?

The teaching of the English language to students Islamic Economics should aim provide them with skills needed for completing academic as well professional tasks. purposes this study are twofold: (1) identifying what types need; and (2) figuring out whether current specific (ESP) course offered is relevant their needs. This on-going employs qualitative descriptive methods 200 firstand second-year program a state university in Medan, Indonesia. data analyzed paper were collected using an online survey divided into two sections: one collect participants’ demographics other explore perceived skill results reveal that most need reading writing more than any skills. reported they have taken so far did not prepare master those recommends existing ESP syllabus be redesigned meet students’ needs.
